I woke up thinking today was Monday, so things started off on a great note when I realized I was actually two days closer to the weekend than I thought. Tony and I have been like ships passing in the night this week, and so far the highlight was on the real Monday night, when I came home from a workout and found that Tony had cooked dinner for us (homemade fried chicken with Greek yogurt instead of buttermilk in the batter, and whole wheat breadcrumbs. SO GOOD.) Here are the other distractions getting me through the week...View Article

A few months ago, I wrote about giving all the girls who came to my bachelorette party a tube of my favorite lipstick as a party favor, since they all traveled so far and took time away from their families and lives to celebrate me in Ojai. I still haven't gotten around to sorting through all the photos and writing about the mad beautiful hilarious fun of that weekend in a way that will do it justice, but my friend Christie emailed me with the great idea to do a blog with each girl wearing the lipstick. I'd read that this shade looks good on everyone, and as you can see, it really does! Some girls blotted it to go on lightly, others slicked it on for a dramatic effect, some filtered their photos and one even had her tube stolen by her baby daughter...View Article
On Saturday, I had the honor and pleasure of attending THE MOST FUN WEDDING OF ALL TIME in sunny Malibu, California. It was billed as "the wedding to end all marriages," with a Bar Mitzvah-carnival theme and an invitation that encouraged women to wear a wedding dress if they had one. It surpassed all my wildest dreams...View Article
FriYAY, amiright??? I am so excited for this weekend. Two of our favorite people are getting married tomorrow, and they have billed their nuptials "the wedding to end all marriages" - all you need to know is that it has a Bar Mitzvah carnival theme and they have insisted I wear my wedding gown. I CAN'T WAIT. Tonight, Tony's new Groundlings show starts previews and will be running Fridays and Saturdays until Thanksgiving; everything he's shown me so far is beautifully, hilariously insane and I'm stoked to see it live, with wigs and all. And Sunday, we'll be hanging and catching up with the "School of Rock" gang. (Somewhere in there, I need to finally tackle our wedding Thank You notes.) Even though it's the end of September, it still feels like an oven outside here in L.A., so I'm still dressing like I'm on summer break. This is one of my favorite buys I grabbed during a Memorial Day sale and have been wearing non-stop since...View Article
About 2 days before our wedding, Tony found out he booked a role in a movie shooting in Vancouver. Thanks to our friend and his "Hart of Dixie" co-star Laura Bell Bundy, it was a direct offer for one of the leads in a Lifetime Christmas movie, "Fiance Claus." And it was set to begin shooting just a few days after returning from our honeymoon. Best wedding gift EVER. My parents kindly offered to watch our pups for another month, so I could go with him and keep the honeymoon going. (Yet another best wedding gift EVER.) Tony and I first visited Vancouver last summer when he shot a Nickelodeon movie there, and we both fell in love with the city. I've written before about how it feels like a combination of home (Los Angeles) and my favorite place in the world (Lake Tahoe), but with nice people - it's a big city, but on the water surrounded by mountains. I would happily move there in a heartbeat. So, we were thrilled to have the chance to pretend to be locals for a month...View Article
Tony and I are settling back into the mundane routine of the Hollywood hustle of our pre-wedding-madness daily lives. For him, that means running around from auditions to meetings to yoga to wherever I want take-out from. For me, that means spending most of the day in front of the computer in workout clothes, pretending I might eventually actually work out. I'm trying to get a head start on pilot season (and also fit in my clothes again, after a 2-month post-wedding honeymoon bender), so Tony and I decided we would do a juice cleanse just one day a week. Yesterday was our "cleanse day," and it ended with me going out for guacamole and cocktails with a friend and confessing to Tony about it before bed, and Tony inhaling a bunch of cookies at rehearsal and confessing to me about it before bed. And then both of us eating leftover pasta and chips together at 11pm. In a way, small, ridiculous things like this make me feel more married than the important things, like the debit card to our new joint account that arrived yesterday. There's something cozy and "ours" about tackling the everyday, boring stuff as husband and wife...View Article
I am a shameless Daddy's Girl to the core. And my friends know I love "Father of the Bride" so much, they threw me a "Father of the Bride"-themed party right before Tony and my wedding. So, the very thought of my dad as Father of the Bride, giving his speech, made me cry multiple times leading up to the wedding. It was just too emotional for me to think about. But, never in a million years did I expect the speech he actually gave...View Article
One of my goals in life is to be able to leave the house without make-up and not have someone say one of the following: 1) "Rough night?" 2) "You look so tired!" 3) "Are you sick?" For as long as I can remember, I've had giant bags under my eyes that don't seem to go away no matter what I do. I think it stems from mentally and emotionally abusing myself if I didn't always get A's in school, and now the adult equivalent of getting A's (like, having a steady and respectable job...) I used to stay up all night studying, and still cut sleep short to get work done or go on the elliptical machine. (My mom thinks my poor sleep stems from my sleeping with my dogs spooning my head, but I disagree.) So, I'm always on the lookout for an eye cream that might work miracles, and this one is my favorite so far. View Article
