HAPPY HALLOWEEN, from the Cavaleros to you! Hope you had a more productive morning than I did, wrestling my dogs into costumes and forcing them to endure a fashion shoot... Today's post is a photo essay on how THAT went. Have a safe and spooky weekend packed with too much candy (and wine and pizza and Christmas music on Sunday, if you're me.) X AView Article

I LOVE SLEEP. (I know, such a basic thing to say. I'm a basic bitch, my friends.) But, years of tottering around in heels that require painkillers to wear have turned me into a bit of a Princess & The Pea with mattresses. And then I slept with Casper, the best mattress I've ever been with (or, more accurately, Tony, our three dogs and I have ever been with). This one's the real deal, folks. I'm in love.View Article
Honestly, I'm not crazy about Halloween. On good days, I get to play dress up for a living and it just seems like a lot of effort to put into getting drunk and bingeing on candy. I can do that in my sweatpants any day of the year, and I don't know why I have to dress up like a sexy cat or a loofah in order to do it on October 31. Really, it's the only holiday standing between me and starting to play Christmas music (which will begin promptly at midnight as soon as Halloween is over). However, Tony and I were invited to a Halloween party on Saturday that he reallyreallyreally wants to go to, so I'm trying to figure out what to dress up as without having to actually buy/put effort into anything. Here is what I've come up with so far...View Article
A few weeks ago, I visited Austin with my dad and brother and forced my dad to photograph me for the blog, calling it "work." Proof that the parental instinct is stronger than anything (including common sense, in this case) my dad supported me and my dreams. I bought this dress to wear to my Bridesmaids' Luncheon way back in July when I was still legally single. It is what I affectionately refer to as "tablecloth chic." I love it because it covers my arms, and yet the wind can still blow through the woven lace, so it's perfect for fall in Los Angeles (which is still in the 90's). And you'll be happy to know that it is currently majorly on sale and under $100! Grab one if you like and let's be twinsies.View Article
HAPPY BACK TO THE FUTURE DAY!!!!!! And also Hump Day! And Two Days From Friday Day! My parents just left L.A. after spending six days with us and I'm celebrating by vacuuming up dog hair and wondering who is going to buy me dinner (spoiler alert: my own joint bank account. Not sure about how I feel about this whole "grown up" thing, although I do love being married.) I took a Spiritual Detox class with my friend Kim this morning, which we immediately followed up with a selfie photo shoot (see above), which probably canceled out any goodwill we earned from the universe in the class. Oh well. Kim's a vegan and we chased our photo shoot with quinoa and tofu, so I guess I'm technically a vegan now too (until dinner anyway). Now, I really need to get some more writing done on the web series she and I are working on. But if we're being honest, here is what I'm reading instead...View Article
