Tony cooking

{How Tony cooks dinner}

This was a whirlwind week of work, catching up with friends after being away for two months and slowly but surely chipping away at our way-belated wedding Thank You cards. Tony’s in the upcoming new Main Company fall show at the Groundlings, which runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 and 10pm every weekend through Thanksgiving, and I can’t wait to go to the preview with one of my girlfriends tonight. Then, later this weekend, I’m making a quick getaway to Austin for some time with family. I can’t believe we’ve already been married 2 months (as of yesterday. Not that I’m counting. Marrieds, when do you stop constantly daydreaming about your wedding??) Here’s what I’m grateful for right now:

fried chicken

After a crazy week and very little together time, Tony surprised me mid-week by making a healthy(ish) version of my favorite (and our wedding dinner), fried chicken. Instead of buttermilk batter, he used Greek yogurt and subbed in whole wheat bread crumbs. And he cooked it all shirtless, natch. Newlywed bliss.

morning maggie

I woke up to this face this morning. This close to me. Sharing my pillow.

nobu dinnermooner

Our friend and Tony’s School of Rock co-star Breanna and her family took us out to Nobu Malibu to celebrate our marriage. Brea’s mom called it our “dinnermooner,” and did a photo shoot of us next to the beach. The theme was awkward models. We loved every minute (and bite).

CHLA

Tony and I had our first day back volunteering at CHLA yesterday since we got married… We walked into this surprise in the playroom. But the thing we’re most grateful for is the fact that we get to work there.

jon & vinny's

We got to try out the new restaurant that all of L.A. has been going insane over, Jon & Vinny’s, with our neighbor/bestie Alanna. Two bottles of wine, 2 pizzas, 2 pastas, 2 soft serve ice creams and all of the appetizers later, we have a new favorite spot. Now, we need new pants (2 sizes larger).

fall pumpkins

Instead of flowers, Tony brought home pumpkins.

sketch shoot

I’m writing for my friend Laura Bell Bundy’s upcoming new comedy website. Here we are, shooting a sketch at the Groundlings last Friday.

wedding champagne

I’m continuing to enjoy the leftover bottles of champagne from our wedding. I will be really, really, really sad when they are gone.

sweet Twitter note

This Tweet from a sweet reader. I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR ALL OF YOU. Thank you thank you thank you thank you for reading, sharing and supporting this blog!

home state

Tony and I inhaled this lunch at HomeState, a place that reminds me of the hole-in-a-walls I used to go to with my grandparents in south Texas. And I didn’t even shame spiral until it was all gone!

dancing shoes

I got to dance all night in these shoes at a wedding last weekend. (And, more importantly, I also got to wear my wedding dress again. I still can’t get over it.)

That the recessional song Tony and I walked back down the aisle to as husband and wife came on Spotify as I was editing this:

Tony's homemade breakfast

Tony made me breakfast while I read all the lifestyle sections of the newspapers I hoarded and didn’t have time to read for the 2+ months leading up to our wedding.

hand holding

That this is the hand I get to hold for the rest of my life. Happy weekend, lovies!

Oh I still relive my wedding and it’s been almost 5 months now. And every time I hear any of our songs from the wedding, I am instantly taken back. My best friend got engaged last weekend and helping her plan her wedding REALLY brought back all the feels this week about my own. I feel like be her getting engaged and me being the maid of honor, I can basically have two weddings in two years ;) Have a great weekend!

Ahhhh I love this so much! I’M NOT ALONE!!!!!! I can’t wait for more of my friends to get engaged, so I can live vicariously through them and offer all sorts of unsolicited advice (like that they should let guests wear their wedding dresses again!) Have the best weekend, thanks so much for reading and supporting me and the blog!! X A
