undateable taping

{Tony + me on the Warner Bros. lot}

LOTS to be grateful for this week. Such as:

Getting to attend the live taping for Undateable. Our besties Jon and Allison (a married couple AND writing partners living the Hollywood dream!!!!) write for the show, and wrote the episode we got to see! Our bestie Rick Glassman is on the show, along with lots of other buddies from the comedy scene. It is the only sitcom that airs LIVE. It is so special and hilarious and jam-packed with good people who work on it. Support them and enjoy yourself. It’s on tonight. WATCH.

The crispy spinach-topped tuna sashimi I had at Kiwami last night. The spinach was so fried, it was almost translucent. I dreamed about it. I ate sushi so many times this week, Tony said I should maybe worry about getting mercury poisoning. I said that anytime you eat enough sushi for that to be a concern, that is a good week.

darkroom cocktails

My parents came to town to catch Tony’s opening at the Groundlings (he’s in the Main Company show every Friday at 8pm and Saturday at 8pm and 10pm through Thanksgiving, except for tonight because we’re going to a wedding. Go see, it’s hilarious!) Mom and Dad ended up staying six nights. The first night we went out to dinner at The Darkroom, these were all the drinks my mom ordered for herself. At once. Before the food even came. Party on, Mom!

WE’RE GOING TO A WEDDING TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love love. And weddings. And getting dressed up. And food. And booze. And dancing. AND LOVE.

This gorgeous note from my friend/living guardian angel, Ted. He and his family are pure light. He sent me this note privately last night in response to the baby blog I wrote yesterday, and I asked him to share it publicly because I don’t think I’m alone in my sentiments and I thought other women out there in a similar boat might benefit from his beautiful words of support, advice and encouragement. It shouldn’t surprise you that he is an incredible dad. If you’d like to learn more about (and maybe even get involved with!) the nonprofit he started to help children around the world and honor his daughter’s life, visit Love, Hallie. Thank you, Ted.

Our friend Michelle invited us to participate in a fundraiser for The Friends of El Faro orphanage at SoulCycle. The ride raised over $55,000!

mom + her granddogs

My mom shipped a giant box of dog toys to our house so she could spoil her “granddogs.” Everyone is in their element here: Maggie, playing. Mom, laughing. Lucy, humping.

friends

We pretended to be grown-ups playing house and had a dinner party! Our friends who created one of the most brilliant and hilarious shows to ever exist, American Town Hall, came over, we ate appetizers on the deck and dinner at our new table, and spent the night laughing.

butch history

My friend Molly’s powerful and inspiring Instagram account, Butch History. Every day, she shares a photo of a female athlete or woman who contributed in a meaningful way to sports history. It’s so empowering, and a really beautiful gift to spread the word about these amazing ladies most of us don’t know about.

A wedding gift from the wonderful people we work with at CHLA. One of them (an insanely talented artist, obviously) drew this of us!

dog party

While my parents were in town with their two dogs, my brother and his girlfriend came over for dinner with their two dogs. Then, my bestie Katierose joined us with her two dogs. We had a total of NINE DOGS begging under the table while we ate take-out Katsu-Ya. It was glorious (until I discovered someone – probably one of the dogs – had peed in three different spots around the living room. Oh well. Still glorious.)

HAPPY WEEKEND!

honey bunny – don’t be so rash in blaming the dogs – your husband has been known to pee in “different” places – like the duck flower pot I had on the front porch when he was little –
