{Wishing you the kind of joy this weekend that a dog feels with her head out the window, like my original baby Lucy}

You guys, I am singing “Friday” with even more off-key passion than Rebecca Black over here. Tony’s been out of town skiing with his dad for the past few days and I’m not gonna lie, I’ve gone feral (to be fair, I’ve also gotten a lot of work done. But, to be fair to Tony, I need to take a shower and put on pants that were designed for something other than eating before he gets home this afternoon.) This weekend, I’m excited to take a make-up masterclass at Violet Grey with my BFF Katierose, catch a movie for a day-date with Tony (only two weekends left to catch him in the Friday/Saturday night shows at Groundlings!) and curl up on the deck with a book or three. Here’s what I’m grateful for this week:

idiotsitter

Idiotsitter premiered on Comedy Central last night. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Did you watch? If not, get on it now. It’s hilarious, and also so badass because it is starring two women but is NOT about catching a man. Support it, so the people making decisions in suits see we want and need more of this.

This dog got married in a custom Marchesa gown, and her wedding is getting published in Martha Stewart Weddings. (It will be a new low for me, if the magazine says no to publishing our wedding and I’m forced to face the fact that a dog in a dress is preferable to me in a dress.)

I went to a “Women in Film” breakfast featuring screenwriters yesterday, and Tony knew I was nervous to go by myself because I am a co-dependent mess. This is the series of texts he sent me. Not only is he my husband, he is also my mother! (Luckily, my friend joined at the last minute and my fears of having no one to sit with were left to be dealt with another time.)

Tony made me homemade quesadillas with the pile of leftovers from our Golden Globes bender, and we caught a mid-week screening of The Forest. Terribly hilarious (in all the wrong ways) movie, awesome impromptu date night in sweats.

My friend Misty and I timed our hike perfectly to catch one of those L.A. sunsets that reminds me that I love living here, even if Hollywood makes me feel like a 3-legged hamster trying to run on a broken wheel sometimes.

Even though he had to leave at 5am for his ski trip, Tony still made me a coffee before he left.

Flower power game strong, a week in. (I adjusted the brightness on this pic because I am a writer not a photographer OK?!)

What are your plans for this long weekend? What are you grateful for right now? HAPPY WEEKEND, lovies!
