{Early V-Day buds from my buddy}

HAPPY HEART DAY LONG WEEKEND, LOVERS! I’m so excited for a 3-day bender of sleeping, eating and time with the hubs and our besties. We’ve packed our weekend with the best things in life: I’m hiking and brunching with an old friend I haven’t seen since our wedding, we’re catching Zoolander 2 on a triple date, having friends over for a pizza night so we can hear all about the honeymoon they just got home from, and hosting a Valentine’s Day double date. We’re grilling out and cooking dinner at home in our fanciest sweats, then parking ourselves in front of the TV to catch the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead. Here’s what I’m grateful for right now, in this unseasonably warm February week in L.A.:

Seeing all of my friends with kids’ Valentine’s Day pictures on social media. I know this made-up holiday is supposed to be all about romance, but it seems like it gets to be even more fun once you pro-create. I’m loving the Pinterest-worthy Valentine’s to send with the kiddos to school, the adorable posts of pre-school “boyfriend & girlfriends,” and of course, the adorable outfits. It’s taking me back to my own pre-wrinkle days, when I woke up to a house decorated with balloons, flowers and a box of chocolate from my parents. (This year, my mom sent a box with spray-on sunscreen for me and a pink “stress vest” for our psycho dog Tippi. Maybe also for me?)

The School of Rock official website went live this week! SO EXCITED for March!!!!!!

Bikini shopping for my upcoming 30th birthday trip (because I told Tony I want to be sent away to a deserted island like a leper, where I can deal with my 1/3 life crisis with a margarita in one hand and a taco in the other). Question: Will I look like I’m starring in Brooklyn or like I’m wearing a diaper if I buy this or this?? (Please respond in the Comments section below. Suggestions welcome.)

My cutie parents, slow-dancing in Hawaii on a vacay they recently went on with a pack of their friends. One of their BFF’s texted me this that night, and it’s still making me happy. LOOK HOW IN LOVE THEY ARE.

Drinking wine while watching Pride and Prejudice and Zombies at Soho House. The movie wasn’t for me, but the booze was!

Date night at home with my husband. Going to the Spy Museum inspired us to start watching The Americans, and now we are hooked.

This amazing list of life hacks Tony sent me.

Getting the best blow-out of my life from Ava Brown at the Perry McGrath Salon. (She did that with a hair dryer, not a curling iron. WHAT.)

Trying out the extremely delicious and chic Gracias Madre. SO MUCH VEGAN THIS WEEK. (Can’t wait for Tony’s famous bacon cheeseburgers on Valentine’s Day.)

Listening to the Sam Cooke Spotify station while I write this, and the songs taking me back to our wedding. BLISS.

Happy long weekend, and happy Valentine’s Day! I hope it’s full of love, whatever “love” means in your life right now. X A
