{Glamour shot outtake for School of Rock press photographed by the uber talented Ted Sun}

It’s back to reality for this birthday baby (it’s my birthday month. My actual birthday is in less than two weeks. Let me have my moment OK?) We’ve been home from Mexico for a few days now, and I’m still scrambling to catch up. Still haven’t unpacked, only showered once, and tried to get back to my normal workout routine in between work, but my body is still mostly made of tequila and tacos right now. I went to a class called “Tabata” this morning, and fell off the stack of risers we were supposed to leaping on and off of, and for the rest of the class the teacher treated me like the kid who eats paste, demonstrating the “modifications” while making heavy eye contact with me and saying, “Good! You can do it, baby steps! Good!” anytime I even remotely attempted anything else. We were both embarrassed for me. Oh well. Baby steps is right.

The exciting news in my “office” (kitchen table, for it’s proximity to the pantry) is that I got a ghostwriting job! Basically, that means I’m being paid to write a screenplay that will have someone else’s name on it as the writer. It’s a hilarious idea, I love the people I’m working with and am so grateful for the opportunity to be a legit, paid writer. It was a real gift getting this job before I turn 30, as I have been reallyreallyreally hard on myself for where I’m at in life as I prepare to hit that milestone. So that is at the top of my gratitude list right now (as is our Mexican adventure, for obvious reasons). Here are the other things bringing my happiness right now:

All of the mini Evian face sprays I hoarded in Mexico and smuggled back with me. MY FACE IS GONNA GLOW LIKE A 21-YEAR-OLD’S.

Woke up to the best tweet this AM: A long-time reader who found me through Hello Giggles tweeted at me that she’s engaged. Congratulations, Anna!!!!! Enjoy it for a hot minute before you crawl down the dark, dark hole of wedding planning!!!!!!

I’m performing in MA’AM, an all-female sketch show, this Sunday and next Thursday! Tony is one of the two token guys in the show, too. If you’re in L.A., come! It’s gonna be so fun!

My new duffel bag from Mexico. (FYI, this beauty is what the housekeepers carried their cleaning supplies around in at the hotel. I fell in deep, deep love with it and Tony convinced the hotel to sell him one.)

Yesterday, when I overheard Tony talking to himself and went into the living room to see what was up, I found him sitting in his massage chair, dictating his answers to interview questions to Siri. He has officially GONE HOLLYWOOD.

The new ALL LADY Ghostbusters movie is coming!!!!!!!!! Did the trailer get you as excited as it did me?

This table runner and these napkins we bought at a local shop in Cabo.

My brilliant and hilarious friend Elizabeth, who created (and co-stars in) this wonderfully twisted new show, Crossroads of History, on the History Channel.

This hairless dog I got to hang out with while Tony was being interviewed.

My latest favorite Instagram account: Overheard in L.A. Laugh out loud funny, and so true.

This #tbt picture of my dad from WAY back in the day that a friend from elementary school just sent me! Our dads were golfing buddies, and she found it at her parents house. He’s not much older than Tony and I are in this pic!!

This wedding gift arrived and MADE MY WEEK. Backstory: Tony and I met performing in the Groundlings Sunday Company. Our friends Corey and Courtney re-wrote the lyrics to “Summer Lovin” from Grease about us back then, and the whole cast performed it on “joke night.” It was one of the happiest, most fun nights of my life. I tried to get them to reprise it at the welcome party at our wedding, but they (understandably) did not want to have to sing for their supper or be publicly humiliated, so they framed the lyrics for us instead. I will cherish it forever.

Cliche coffee art pic from Commissary. I am a #basicbitch and 100% okay with it. BECAUSE HOW PRETTY IS THIS???
