orange carpet

{My girl, on the orange carpet this weekend}

The hubs and I landed in NYC this AM after a red eye flight and a whirlwind weekend with the Kids’ Choice Awards and the School of Rock premiere. Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who watched, spread the news about the show and called and texted – I haven’t seen Tony so emotional since our wedding, and we’re both so grateful for all the love and support you’ve shown him. We’re in the city for the next few days for Tony to promote the show and to celebrate my 30th birthday on St. Patrick’s Day. And as an early birthday gift, Tony wrote this guest blog for me. I’m stupid crazy lucky, I know…

Happy Monday everyone! Thought I would get this week kicked off with a little husband blog takeover. I want to take a moment and talk a little bit about my baby boo boo bae bae (AKA Annie. My wife. Mrs. Cavalero.)

I’m so lucky to get to wake up next to this woman everyday. Though truth be told, many mornings she’s up and gone before I rouse which is saying something, because I am a morning person. Annie wakes up every morning at the crack of dawn to take a workout class. After her workout (and feeding the dogs), she sits at her desk (our kitchen table) and composes a blog. Now, I have written a few guest blogs for her in the past and, believe me or not, they are HARD WORK! Like 3 or 4 four hours of work. Sometimes 5 or 6, if it’s a real doozy. Who knew, right?

Deciding on a topic, doing the research, gathering pictures, writing the actual text, and uploading everything so it’s not a jumbled mess all in one sitting takes diligence. Most of the time I get a few paragraphs in and hate myself, but Annie tackles it with calmness and confidence, even if the blog is about her lack of calmness or confidence. A little gushing here for my wife’s blog (I’m allowed that. It’s my blog takeover. Today is MY DAY.) I’m consistently blown away by HITH. There is seriously not another female comedy lifestyle blogger out there that can touch her. I’m telling you, readers, this chick’s audience is gonna EXPLODE! (Huge special thanks to all you OG’s who’ve been following her from the beginning.)

Speaking of Heels in the Hills, recently Annie posted a very candid blog about all the emotions and feelings that this birthday has brought about, really laying all her cards on the table. Basically, everyone has their own struggles, even if she is the most perfect, delicate, and beautiful lady I know. :D

This also happens to be her first birthday as a married lady coming up.  As her husband, I was wondering what this lowly star in the Nickelodeon Universe (#SOR) could do to help, and decided I could start by freeing up her typing fingers for a glass of champagne. So, take a day off Annie, Tony’s got the blog covered today!

Like I said, writing these things is hard work, so what to write about… Oh right! I can take this opportunity to say “Happy Birthday my love” in a very special birthday week blog.

Last week, we were both out for drinks with a comedy buddy and he was telling the story of one of the first times I saw Annie. He and I had been writing in the attic at the Groundlings when this girl walked in and shyly said “Hello.” As soon as she left the room, I said something to the effect of “That girl is a babe! I like her.” SO ROMANTIC, RIGHT!?! It was meant to be. A lot has happened since then (I’m no longer a janitor. Her dog tally is now up to 3. Hoping to keep it that way.) It was so fun being reminded of the beginning.

Little did I know that behind all that beauty there was this writing genius, sensitive sweetheart, and foodie girl from a small town in Northern California, and I get to have the gift of her everyday. I don’t care if that sounds cheesy because I just think I’m the luckiest person in the world. She cries every time I get a new job. She may as well be wearing a cheerleading outfit with a sign that says “I love Tony and I’m so proud of him!” She makes me amazing food, she cares for our dogs as if they were each the baby Jesus, she loves me with every bit of her soul, and I love her too.

Happy Birthday week, baby. And have a great week, everybody else!

Also… When are you going to finally give in on having a baby!?!?! Can I be the dad?

Editor’s Note: Not any time soon, and I’ll think about it.
