Having that kind of Friday where I woke up feeling like it’s Saturday… Only to realize that’s because I accidentally overslept an hour after setting my alarm for 7:50PM. TGIF. Tony and I started a new diet this week called “being mindful of calories” and “eating healthy.” I HATE IT, but am relieved that my clothes are starting to require less force to get myself into them. Tony’s brother is coming to town to visit this weekend, and Tony and I have sounded like Bubba in Forrest Gump all week, talking about all the places we’re going to take him to eat on our Cheat Day. (I am fully aware that so far, this blog is making me sound like Will Ferrell’s character in Old School. Maybe we’ll even go to Bed Bath and Beyond!) So far, the list includes donuts, chocolate croissants, bagels with full-fat cream cheese, breakfast burritos, tacos, cupcakes, pizza and pasta. Nick, I hope you’re hungry! Aside from our food binge, I’m looking forward to being a hermit in front of the TV on the sofa, catching up on books and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Here’s what I’m grateful for this week…
This gorgeous terrarium my friend Tiff made us.
The security guard I passed on my way into an audition who had his dog in a sweater with him at work. He wished me good luck as I walked in, and it made my day.
Mo Welch’s “Barely Blair” Instagram feed. It is LIFE and I love it so much.
SHAKE SHACK IS COMING TO L.A.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tony and I had a date night at LACMA’s Live Read for Dr. Strangelove, and this was the cast. Fiona Apple came out to sing at the end, and Johnny Knoxville slammed a pie in her face. It was magic.
In order to get myself to the gym, I downloaded the audio book for Aziz Ansari’s “Modern Romance,” and am only allowing myself to listen to it if I’m on the treadmill. So far, the plan is working.
Walking the dogs with this pink sky as a backdrop.
What’s on your gratitude list right now? HAPPY WEEKEND!
