{ Vogue’ing at our friends’ wedding in Lake Arrowhead }
HAPPY FRIDAY! It’s raining here in L.A., giving me the joyful rush of adrenaline that most people feel when it’s suns out/guns out time… I LOVE RAIN. With my see-through skin and sunscreen obsession, I probably belong in the pacific northwest, but alas, Hollywood isn’t there and neither is my husband, so I’m enjoying every second of this beautiful and rare downpour. (I’m also using it as an excuse to start drinking wine at 3pm. #TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) This was one of those weird weeks that seemed to fly by so fast I’d find myself still in my sweats at the end of the day with a pile of unfinished work… And yet, the days themselves seemed to drag a bit. Tony’s back at work and we’ve taken on some major home improvement projects that have me questioning my sanity. So, I’m so excited to have the weekend to re-charge and spend time with the hubs and our dog-children. Tony’s filming something exciting tonight (keep in touch with us on Instagram to see, I don’t want to be a tease but more importantly, I don’t want to get in trouble for blog-blabbing about it here), which gives me a reason to put on some clothes and make-up, and venture out in the rain to interact with society. What are you up to this weekend? Here’s what I’m grateful for on this perfect grey day (aside from boozing while it’s drizzling on the window…)
Bedside roses.
My friend Mary Grill, who is starring on TBS’ The Detour, which premieres Monday. She is the funniest and the kindest and I love her. WATCH!
Tony, who homemade this dinner from Chrissy Teigen’s cookbook: Coconut rice and chicken lettuce wraps (minus the only healthy part, the lettuce.)
THIS.
Watching our sweet friends Laurie and Joey get married last weekend. Their vows were gorgeous, and they gave us an excuse for a getaway to Lake Arrowhead. It was magical.
Spring flowers on a walk around the lake.
THIS BREAKFAST. Tony and I are children when it comes to nutrition. FYI, that waffle is stuffed with whipped peanut butter and chocolate ice cream. (And I added avocado to the scrambled egg biscuits & gravy to pretend I was being healthy!) If you ever go to Lake Arrowhead, we highly recommend Belgian Waffle Works.
Sushi night with my besties Kim and Katierose.
The moment when Tony pointed out that I matched my nail polish to my favorite lamp.
That a dog park of such epic proportions such as this exists. Um, I WANT TO GO TO HERE. This is the ultimate fantasy of all my dreams:
Listening to Leon Bridges on repeat while I write in the rain.
Dinners with Tony up on our deck. Happy weekend!
