I just want to take a minute to say how inspired I am by my insanely brilliant and hilarious friend, Jimmy Fowlie. We’ve known each other since we were babies (19-year-olds) at USC, and we both went through the Groundlings together. When he first moved to L.A. he worked as a go-go dancer, and he took all of the wild stories and experiences from that time in his life and turned them into one of the funniest live shows I’ve ever seen on the Groundlings stage, Go-Go Boy Interrupted. The live show was so popular he turned it into a web series. And the first season was so popular, he came back with an even bigger and better second season, starring so many people you love (hello, Brittany from Glee!) as well as some of our funniest friends, directed by the incredible Jordan Black. And he did it all independently – there’s no studio or TV network behind it, but the numbers, reviews and names involved speak for themselves. He’s proof that you don’t need to wait for someone else to give you the Golden Ticket and grant you a career; he made one for himself, and it’s amazing. Which is no surprise because he is amazing.
