Earlier this week, I shared Style Me Pretty’s post featuring our wedding. I had intended to write a big follow up today, a play-by-play of the day and what it felt like and every single joyful little detail… But, you can read about what made our wedding “Pinterest-y” over on Style Me Pretty. In our submission to be featured, I talked about the DIY details like the flip flops with movie quotes my friends made with me, or the cones for flower petals we made from old programs from Tony and my show TONANNIE. Or, the marble slab table numbers Tony and his dad made. Or, the map my mom drew that not only included information on how to get to the wedding… But also “landmarks” like where Tony drove my car into a tree on his way to propose to me. I wrote about using some of my late grandmother’s recipes for our menu, and how my dad baked her famous cheese biscuits himself for guests to snack on when they arrived. Or the fact that Tony’s stepsister and her husband sang and played the music for our ceremony. One of our best friends officiating the wedding. The list goes on and on and on about what made our wedding “special.”
But, what truly made the wedding special was the people who were there. The people who worked so hard, and traveled so far, to make that day special for Tony and me. We could have eloped (I think my mom still wishes we had), but I am sososososo glad we did not because it meant we got to share the most intimate and meaningful day of our lives with all of the people who collectively have made us who we are. We are so fortunate to have so much love and support from the families we were born into, and the families we’ve built in our friends. We spent the entire wedding laughing, and ended the night with everyone in a giant circle scream-singing “Sweet Caroline” while Tony and I danced in the middle. My hair was so sweaty and gross and un-Pinterest-y from dancing, my mom braided the matted mess of my own locks (as well as the hair from some stranger in Italy that became my extensions), and twisted it into an impromptu knot, and I got to have a sweet, unplanned moment of just being her daughter again, letting her do my hair. Tony and I snuck upstairs just to look out the window and watch everyone having the time of their lives at the house we love so much. Every time I looked at him that day, he had tears in his eyes like he couldn’t believe his luck, and I hope my face looked the same because I am the lucky one. I have never felt happier or more loved. The day was our dream come true.
Here is the rest of our wedding album, not just the “pinnable” details, but the people. (And also the dogs. And a lot of me. And all the cry-photos of Tony, which are my favorite.) Thank you so much for being a part of this wedding with me here!

Beautiful, are these photos different from the Style Me Pretty article, I already had a look over these? Was your dress code black tie? And did your guests follow it?
Did you hire a photographer?
So many questions, but I think I noticed when both of you were getting more drunken by your happiness :)
And also noticed some of your friends come over here on yor blog, do you mainly write for them or the great anonymous Internet?
Thank you so much!! I included some of the ones from Style Me Pretty, but wanted to put up more of the photos as well, so this is a more thorough (and bigger) album than Style Me Pretty’s – sorry for any overlap! We did have a black tie dress code, and everyone did follow it. I personally love dressing up and don’t think there are enough opportunities in life to put on your fancy duds, and everyone said they loved it (which was a relief). It’s fun to have a reason to get dressed up!
Our photographer was Meg Smith. I linked to her at the bottom of the blog if you want to see the rest of her work – she was so wonderful, we loved working with her!
And I write for anyone and everyone willing to read this blog! I so appreciate the support from my friends, and am lucky that because so many of them are writers and entertainers, they’re willing to write guest blogs sometimes! But it’s my hope that the great anonymous internet will connect with me and enjoy the blog, too!! Thank you so much for reading!
Hi! Greetings from Virginia!
I’m was a Wilburdale kid like Tony (Annandale ’82.). Lisa Z and I grew up next door to each other, and my mom (Wende) and Nancy are good friends (in case you’re wondering who this random stranger is). II’ve been following your blog through Nancy on Facebook, , and I have so enjoyed keeping up with Tony and seeing your wonderful wedding photos. They are terrific! II’ve been to Tahoe, so I know what a beautiful location it is. I’m thinking of renewing our vows just so we can have a CANDY TABLE! Genius idea! Marriage is the best, and you two are already pros at it! Looking forward to reading about more adventures.

Becky, this means so much to me! Thank you so much for reading my blog and supporting me, and for dropping me a line – I’m so grateful to know people are reading the blog, this made me so happy. These sweet words are the best! I fully support a vow renewal (I’m ready to plan one myself, I’ve got the post-wedding blues!!) Marriage really is the best, and I’m the luckiest to have married Tony and into his loving, wonderful family. Thank you again for this beautiful note!
Oh my gosh, Annie, you looked so beautiful! Like, the type of gorgeous where I bet little girls ask if you’re a princess. I think my favorite photos were the ones where you two were walking back down the aisle – you both just look so gorgeously, deliriously happy and in love.
Sweet girl!!! Thank you so much, this is the loveliest. I love it especially because that is exactly how we felt – deliriously overjoyed. All of the cliches are true, it really is the best day of all time EVER. Thank you!!!
So gorgeous, Annie!!! I adored these photos, you looked stunning and you all looked so happy :) I absolutely LOVED your dress. Sometimes I wish I opted for a long gown for my own wedding (I went knee length due to my extremely short height and the fact it was mid-summer haha) but if I had I’d want yours for sure, it’s beautiful. Lovely photos and I’m so glad you shared them with us all!
Oh, this makes my day!!! (And life!!) Thank you for saying that – finding the right dress was such a struggle for me, and a decision I kept second guessing, so this is the loveliest. I LOVE when girls wear short wedding gowns though, I’m sure yours was stunning!! Thank you so much for this sweet note, and for looking through the photos and supporting this blog, it means so much to me. xx
