My bestie Barbara King's latest guest blog on motherhood features the best books to read while pregnant... Let's be honest, I will read all of them NOW (even though I'm nowhere close to being pregnant) because I am an anxious person who wants to be prepared for EVERYTHING well in advance. Thank you for giving me some reading material aside from the pile of Us Weekly's I've been hoarding, Barbara!View Article

Wrap dresses are my current bliss because you can loosen them as you eat and no one is the wiser. Tony and I were invited to the annual neighborhood picnic in our new hood this weekend and the invite mentioned "a taco truck" and "donuts," which meant I was there to party and didn't need a cinched waistline interrupting my food flow. It's like the chic version of eating pants. My hope is that the plunging neckline distracts from the any of the "eating pants" references. Plus, the ruffled sleeves and grey stripes are super summery and fun, so the dress (and neckline) work for daytime. Remember how much fun it was as a kid when you got to climb on a fire truck at small town parades? Well, I will tell you it is even MORE fun as an adult to humiliate your husband (and any passersby embarrassed for you) by making him photograph you in front of one!View Article
Tony and I finally finished renovating our current home and I am thrilled for the following reasons: 1) I have access to my wine again. 2) We have use of our kitchen sink again. 3) I have access to my wine again. 4) NEW MARBLE COUNTERTOPS. 5) That wine thing. 6) It looks like we live in a modern art museum, and all my hoarding is squirreled away #OutOfSightOutOfMind. 7) That wine thing. I am drinking wine as I write this, in fact. I'm feeling ALL THE FEELINGS. As you know if you read this blog regularly, Tony and I bought a new house that we are absolutely thrilled about... But I have lived in this one for 7 years and love it deeply. I have so many amazing memories here, we have put so much work into it over the years and it feels kind of surreal that we're selling it. Change is hard for me, but I know it is good and we are so excited for this new chapter. And I hope we find someone to love our house as much as we do. I also hope your weekend is filled with as much wine as mine will be. HAPPY FRIDAY! (Apologies in advance for any spelling and/or grammatical errors. My day drinking game is strong this afternoon.)View Article
Heels in the Hills' resident mommy blogger Barbara King is back with her weekly dose of hilarity on motherhood in Los Angeles, this time tackling WHY L.A. moms just can't seem to let their kids be bored... (And why boredom is so important. An idea I FULLY support. Now excuse me while I go read a pile of trashy gossip mags.)View Article
Day 15 of living in our bunker. I've gone feral. Last night, my besties staged an intervention and forced me to shower, put on real clothes and leave the house for dinner. I drank too much wine and cried about how we are like "Sex and the City" with no Miranda. The waiter gave us all free banana bread to take home, and it made me feel pretty. Here we are taking a selfie in the bathroom. Below are some of the things I've been reading in our bunker. WHAT DAY IS IT I CHANGED MY MIND RENOVATING A HOUSE IS WAY HARDER THAN I THOUGHT. Goodnight!View Article
If you're dying to look like an albino vampire like me, THIS IS YOUR ANSWER! Or, if you want to just be a smart person, lather yourself up in these sunscreens then get a spray tan. (I've tried that and just look like Tan Mom/a lunch shift stripper, and also I'm just lazy, so I stay my natural translucent shade of pale.) There is NO REASON not to wear sunscreen on a daily basis. I am trying to save your life because I am a good person. If that is my one legacy, I'm cool with that - the girl who tried to be a writer/actor, but succeeded in preventing skin cancer for the Heels in the Hills readership of her mom's book club and some super nice strangers who leave super nice messages that serve as verbal antidepressants! Here's what I use, whether it be on the daily, out for a run or at the beach...View Article
