I am a makeup junkie (which is a polite term for makeup hoarder), and tend to hold onto everything, so I’ve got a lot of products I dip into every now and then but last way past their expiration date because they’re used so infrequently. However, I reach for Laura Mercier’s Caviar Sticks so often I find myself having to buy new ones all the time. They’re so fast and easy – color on your eye like a crayon, blend it with your finger and you’re good to go. And it lasts all day (even through sweat sessions at the gym, or a day at the beach. I know this because I wear makeup to the gym and the beach.) I’ve been thinking these will be even more precious to me when I’m a mom eventually, because it’s so quick to apply and from what I understand, new moms don’t have a ton of time to do makeup every AM. I discovered them when my mom gave me a gift set for Christmas a few years ago with a small stick of every color, so I’ve tried them all (and love them all), but here are the three in my daily rotation:
Moonlight Definitely the one I wear most often; it’s like a shimmery, neutral nude that gives me a “I slept 9 hours last night and have zero stress in my life” look. But there is just enough color to look like I put some effort into myself. Plus, it’s described as a “metallic champagne,” and I LOVE CHAMPAGNE.
Amethyst Perfect for a daytime smokey-ish eye. It looks more purple online than it is in person; still, I was hesitant to try it because I generally lean toward more natural colors, especially when the sun is still out. But I tried it once and was immediately hooked – on, this one makes my eyes pop without the heaviness of black or dark brown; it has the lightest purple tint, but mostly comes on as a mauve-grey with a really light smokiness. Every time I wear it, people ask me what brand/color is.
Rose Gold This one is a shade lighter than Moonlight with just a little bit of pink, and I put it on solo if I want it to truly look like I’m not wearing make-up, I just naturally glow/have skin that was born shimmery. This one is also a great base if you’re contouring with a brown powder shadow, or doing a dramatic cat-eye eyeliner look.
HONORABLE MENTION: Tuxedo I only use this one when I want a messy hipster intense smokey eye; the crayon-like application works great for the lighter, more natural shades but you have to be careful with this matte black – a little goes a long way, but it’s a pretty way to achieve that popular Pinterest look of “I slept with mascara on, woke up with it perfectly smudged and am now going to my job in fashion today.”
Have you tried any of these? What are your daily eyeshadow go-to’s?

Ooh I’m intrigued! Fellow make up junkie here. I personally love Urban Decay. Their palettes are so easy to play with, blend well and great .pigments. The Naked 2 and 3 are my gotos
Oooohhh nice!! Can’t wait to try! Thanks!!
A make-up post needs swatches, I can’t imagine what these colors truly look like and I love to look at them. Just a suggestion for next time.
Thanks! I linked to them, so hopefully clicking through those helps!
