"Back to School" season gives me anxiety. Even though I don't HAVE to go back to school ever again (although every time I cry about my career, my parents suggest grad school!) - I still get that feeling of dread in my stomach. I usually faced my fears by doing something crazy like perming my hair, spray tanning only my legs, or getting an eyebrow wax (that ripped the skin off along with the hair.) One year ago today was the best day of my life because I got to marry my best friend, my favorite person in the world. Every cheesy thing about love and weddings and marriage is true. It was the most overwhelming moment of things just feeling right (not to mention the feeling of pure joy). I always used to hate it when people would say about finding your person, "When you know, you know," because I have a hard enough time knowing what clothes to put on or what to eat. How would I just know about who I wanted to spend my life with? But then I met Tony in his short shorts and socks and sandals and something in me just said "Oh, it's you." And he's been making me laugh and feel so very loved every day since. Someone recently told me how rare and lucky it is that I actually like my spouse and he likes me. That bummed me out because it's kind of true, but also reminded me just how lucky I am. We don't just love each other, we also like each other. Any time with him is the best time...View Article

This week, I am most grateful that this MONDAY AUGUST 1 IS TONY + MY 1ST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!! (And you know how much I LOVE anniversaries.) In honor of that (and the fact that I wish every day for the rest of my life could be our wedding all over again), I'm wearing white every day. Follow me on Instagram if you want to see. Also, I'm going to try to get Tony to recite his vows to me and/or propose every day, so maybe there will be some documentation of that as well. I'm so excited to celebrate, and also defrost the top layer of our wedding cake and eat off it every day like a hyena picking at a carcass. IT'S GONNA BE SO GREAT! I've shared before about my distaste for camping - I've only been twice in my life, and the first time (as a kid) I asked the park ranger where the room service menu was. I KNOW, I'm AWFUL. But my bestie Barbara King makes a pretty good case for taking kids camping. And since I pretty much want to model all of my (future) parenting choices on whatever she does, maybe I will one day be convinced to take my kids camping, too...View Article

Remember when Solange Knowles got married in a white jumpsuit? I WISH I WAS THAT COOL. (I got married in a princess ballgown instead.) But I've been wanting one ever since I saw her Big Day photos, and came across this one recently. I wore it to my friend's baby shower this weekend and enough ladies asked me where I got it that, when I got home, I promptly forced my husband to photograph me in it.
