All you need to know about my day is that when I went to Starbucks this morning and they asked me my name for the order, I replied "Tony." I 100% HAVE ALZHEIMER'S (self-diagnosed). We are still living in our bunker and Tony says we can't afford to keep eating take-out sushi every night, and I'm pretty sure I'm losing my mind. When I'm not arguing with my dogs or trying to get some work done, here is what I am trolling on the internet...View Article
I've been searching for the perfect moto jacket for over a year. (I am a really indecisive person. I have trouble ordering at restaurants, and usually make my husband order my 2nd choice so I can switch if I change my mind. He is a good man.) Making it especially difficult was the fact that I had a faux leather* (*pleather) jacket I have loved since I bought it on clearance at Saks Off Fifth (where stuff is already on sale). I wore it out to dinner, to weddings, everywhere - it went with everything. I even barfed into it in a cab in Vegas, then washed it in the washing machine when I got home because it was faux leather* (*pleather). But, because it was faux leather* (*pleather), it started to wear out. It now has a bunch of tears in it, and even a few burned holes from the time I wore it to a beach bonfire. I still love it and will probably still wear it when it rains. Anyway, all of this is leading up to the fact that I needed to find a leather jacket that I would love just as much, that would last forever. And, thanks to the "School of Rock" costume designer Alison Freer, I found this one...View Article
My heart hurts. I am wrecked by what happened in Orlando this weekend. I am wrecked by the thought that these beautiful people went out to have a fun night - just like I did - and were gunned down by a monster full of hate. I am wrecked by how normal mass shootings are becoming in this country. I am wrecked by seeing these in my social media newsfeeds and feeling helpless because they are true...View Article
Tony and I are giving our current home a little make-over prior to finding a new family to love it as much as we do. So, over the past few days, it's been getting its "lipstick" painted on (otherwise known as re-finishing our floors.) Because this nightmare process takes days, we are currently living in one room with our 3 dogs. Tony gets to go to work, so for roughly 10-12 hours a day, it's been me and the dogs. I think I speak dog now. When I run out of the crackers, Kind bars and Costco-size jar of peanut butter I hoarded into our make-shift bunker, I guess I will have to eat dog food. I've spent a lot of hours actively regretting that I forgot to hoard wine. If "The Walking Dead" becomes reality, I will be prepared (unless zombies fit through dog doors.) This weekend, I am most looking forward to getting some fresh air outside of this room, and re-gaining access to my wine. HAPPY FRIDAY! Here's what I'm grateful for right now...View Article
Heels in the Hills' resident mommy blogger Barbara King is saving my butt, taking her series on motherhood in Los Angeles to a weekly post while I pack my life into boxes and renovate a house built in 1939. Lucky for me (and you, because she is hilarious and brilliant), she will be here every Thursday for the next few months. THANK YOU BARBARA. Here is her advice on how to raise a strong, independent, self-confident daughter...View Article
This has been a great week. On Monday, Tony and I got to pitch a TV show about our life/relationship/families, and have all our fingers and toes crossed that it sells so we can work together and be together ALL THE TIME. And now that we know our new house is happening, we've also been in full on nesting mode, planning our new home with our good friend Amber at Spruce Design & Organization. I should probably be working on boxing up all my hoarding, but instead I'm Pinterest'ing all the things I can't afford! If you, too, are looking for things to do on the internet instead of work, here are a few pieces of interest to peruse...View Article
