Remember when Solange Knowles got married in a white jumpsuit? I WISH I WAS THAT COOL. (I got married in a princess ballgown instead.) But I've been wanting one ever since I saw her Big Day photos, and came across this one recently. I wore it to my friend's baby shower this weekend and enough ladies asked me where I got it that, when I got home, I promptly forced my husband to photograph me in it. Here I am (smizing behind those sunglasses) in front of our new house... THE QUEST TO BECOME INSTAGRAM FAMOUS CONTINUES!!!!!!View Article

Wrap dresses are my current bliss because you can loosen them as you eat and no one is the wiser. Tony and I were invited to the annual neighborhood picnic in our new hood this weekend and the invite mentioned "a taco truck" and "donuts," which meant I was there to party and didn't need a cinched waistline interrupting my food flow. It's like the chic version of eating pants. My hope is that the plunging neckline distracts from the any of the "eating pants" references. Plus, the ruffled sleeves and grey stripes are super summery and fun, so the dress (and neckline) work for daytime. Remember how much fun it was as a kid when you got to climb on a fire truck at small town parades? Well, I will tell you it is even MORE fun as an adult to humiliate your husband (and any passersby embarrassed for you) by making him photograph you in front of one!View Article
You guys, it's like 107 degrees in L.A. today AND the first day of summer, so what better time to share a jacket on the blog?! But for real, after eating pizza in bed for over a week while we live in our bunker, my arms are not my favorite body part at the moment. Plus, anytime you go anywhere, it's usually frigid from the air conditioning inside, so this jacket is not just a reflection of my insecurity, but also a necessity (or that's what I'm telling myself). The florals make it summer-ish, the black bomber style makes it badass, and one of the kids on "School of Rock" asked me where I got it SO THAT MEANS IT IS COOL. Or turnt or lit, or whatever they say now. I got the dress on sale at my fave, Sunroom in Austin and have had these shoes forever (Maggie chewed on them a little, but you can't see from a distance I don't think, so I wear them anyway.) K HAPPY MONDAY BYE!View Article
I've been searching for the perfect moto jacket for over a year. (I am a really indecisive person. I have trouble ordering at restaurants, and usually make my husband order my 2nd choice so I can switch if I change my mind. He is a good man.) Making it especially difficult was the fact that I had a faux leather* (*pleather) jacket I have loved since I bought it on clearance at Saks Off Fifth (where stuff is already on sale). I wore it out to dinner, to weddings, everywhere - it went with everything. I even barfed into it in a cab in Vegas, then washed it in the washing machine when I got home because it was faux leather* (*pleather). But, because it was faux leather* (*pleather), it started to wear out. It now has a bunch of tears in it, and even a few burned holes from the time I wore it to a beach bonfire. I still love it and will probably still wear it when it rains. Anyway, all of this is leading up to the fact that I needed to find a leather jacket that I would love just as much, that would last forever. And, thanks to the "School of Rock" costume designer Alison Freer, I found this one...View Article
The conversation around this blog was mostly whether there was too much camel toe going on to share it, but Tony won out and so the pics are going up! (I think he really pushed for it because I made him take them during a rainstorm when we were in Austin a few weeks ago, and he didn't want to have gotten soaked for nothing.) This jumpsuit is crazy comfortable, on sale and makes me feel like I'm in "Top Gun." HAPPY MONDAY! (For real, though, apologies for camel toe.)View Article
Tony and I were in Santa Barbara for a wedding this weekend, and I brought this silk wrap dress along for the post-wedding brunch. We were taking embarrassing blogger photos by the beach when I heard a voice shout, "HEELS IN THE HILLS!" I turned around, thrilled to meet my adoring public, and spotted Lillian Grant, the prettiest girl from my high school in northern California. (LILLIAN. Even her name is perfect.) She was in Santa Barbara for a different wedding with her fancy European boyfriend who lightly kissed me on BOTH cheeks like a true European! Guys. Lillian isn't just "high school pretty," she's model gorgeous. Literally. I'm pretty sure she's an actual model. As I breathlessly filled Tony in later, she lives in Italy and could probably be an Instagram celebrity or lifestyle blogger that people actually follow because they just want to be her, but she's too cool. She's an artist. A cool artist. Have I made it clear how cool she is? I wanted to be her 15 years ago, and I still want to be her now. (Alas, I wasn't her, I was the girl who spray tanned only her legs and once waxed the skin off her face when attempting an eyebrow wax.) Anyway, long story short, I practically crapped myself that she remembered me and reads my blog. So now it's not just my mom and her book club and a few of you nice strangers who sometimes comment reading, it's also Lillian Grant. HI LILLIAN. And she complimented me on this dress, and she would know because she's a model (I think) and is doing all sorts of cool art with Italian textiles. So this post is dedicated to Lillian, and this gorg dress that I got at my favorite boutique in all the land, Sunroom in Austin...View Article
Since I wrote about perfectionism yesterday, I thought it would be apropos to do an outfit post today, featuring me desperately chasing the perfect photo shoot on a mountain in Canada! Despite being in the high '80's that day, I knew Whistler was the perfect location for this type of look, weather be damned. So, like a crazy person, I wore this to the Whistler Farmer's Market that summery day while hikers and bikers wandered by, simultaneously wondering what we were doing posing in winter gear in the grass and feeling embarrassed for us. (These pictures are actually from the fall, when we were in Canada for a Lifetime movie Tony was shooting, where it was unseasonably and unreasonably warm most days.) My saint of an Instagram husband graciously photographed me in the outfit he bought for me at a warehouse sale days prior as I sweated through this sweater that it is finally cold enough to wear here in L.A. And seeing as the weather now matches the look, here is what I am wearing this winter... Giant cozy sweaters and stretchy jeans, as I try to undo the damage I did to my waistline over the holidays. HAPPY TUESDAY!View Article
