If you read yesterday's blog, you know squeezing into my jeans isn't exactly an option for me after our NYC pasta//pizza//cake//champagne bender. So I was super stoked to discover these as an alternative to my usual go-to Yoga Pants (Even Though I Don't Do Yoga) look. The mom of one of Tony's "School of Rock" costars was wearing these at a party recently, and I cornered her immediately to find out where she'd gotten them. I was relieved to find out they're under $100, and ordered them on the spot. And the sneakers are from our wedding! My bestie//MOH Katierose knows how much I love "Father of the Bride," and suggested I get a pair of my own wedding sneakers to pay homage to the movie and be comfortable dancing all night. Best idea ever. I don't know if wedge sneakers are "on trend" anymore, but I DO know they're comfortable and I love them, especially because these ones remind me of the best night of my life. If you run into me this week, I'll probably be wearing this.View Article

Over the holidays, I raided my mom's closet instead of going on a shopping spree. She's a babe now, and she was a total babe when she was my age (she was a flight attendant back when they were still called "stewardesses" and had to do now-illegal things like weigh-ins). I inherited my hoarding habits from her, so I figured I would probably come up with some gorgeous vintage looks and I was right... She held on to so much cool stuff from the '70s and '80s, and one of my favorite finds is this embroidered shift dress she bought before I was born on a trip to Panama (where her mom, my grandmother, grew up). I've been wearing it non-stop lately, but thought it was especially perfect for our recent trip to Mexico...View Article
My sweet, sweet husband got me this dress for Christmas AND photographed me in it with the new iPhone camera lenses he got me for Valentine's Day. It's made of a super soft and stretchy T-shirt material, and is comfy enough to sleep in. (*Full disclosure: I drank so much champagne on Valentine's Day, I think I did sleep in it. I don't remember.) It's also currently on sale for $19.99. I bought the boots at a clearance sale on a trip to Colorado almost a decade ago, and justify my hoarding by still wearing all of the stuff I hang onto. Here I am, posing awkwardly in my backyard because I love attention. I didn't wear Spanx because I like to be comfs and let it all hang out, but I'm regretting that now because I ate half a pan of brownies before we took these pics. Oh well. Sharing anyway BECAUSE I'M A REAL GIRL with a brownie belly when I'm not sucking in sosososo hard. Happy Monday!View Article
Since I wrote about perfectionism yesterday, I thought it would be apropos to do an outfit post today, featuring me desperately chasing the perfect photo shoot on a mountain in Canada! Despite being in the high '80's that day, I knew Whistler was the perfect location for this type of look, weather be damned. So, like a crazy person, I wore this to the Whistler Farmer's Market that summery day while hikers and bikers wandered by, simultaneously wondering what we were doing posing in winter gear in the grass and feeling embarrassed for us. (These pictures are actually from the fall, when we were in Canada for a Lifetime movie Tony was shooting, where it was unseasonably and unreasonably warm most days.) My saint of an Instagram husband graciously photographed me in the outfit he bought for me at a warehouse sale days prior as I sweated through this sweater that it is finally cold enough to wear here in L.A. And seeing as the weather now matches the look, here is what I am wearing this winter... Giant cozy sweaters and stretchy jeans, as I try to undo the damage I did to my waistline over the holidays. HAPPY TUESDAY!View Article
Lucky for me, Tony was working solely on night shoots when I went to visit him in Texas a little over a week ago, and so he was available to serve as free labor to photograph me for my unpaid blog work during his daytime downtime (HOLLYWOOD IS SO GLAMOROUS, GUYS). I mean, we got upgraded to a suite at the Hotel Saint Cecilia with a backyard and a fire pit, so how could we not have a fashion shoot??? I recently purchased this majestic faux fur monstrosity after a glass or two (or bottle) of wine, and when it arrived a week later much to my surprise, I was even more surprised to discover I also LOVE IT sober. Even though I was sweating balls in it in balmy Austin, I wore it anyway because I am a "slave to fashion" // crazy person. Now that it's the holiday season and finally feels like winter weather-wise here on the west coast best coast, I can't wait to rock it for both fashion and warmth. Although people will probably still look at me like I'm a dipshit when I strut it out in Tahoe, because really, what average human wears this in their street life? (ME. The answer is me, guys. And also Cruella de Vil.)View Article
Tony was in full Instagram Husband mode from the moment I touched down in Austin a few days ago. The man is a saint, and not of the Kardashian-West variety. He even pretends he likes it, and he's a good enough actor that I choose to believe him. We took these pictures around our room at the Hotel Saint Cecilia, one of my favorite places both to stay, and to pretend I am a model and not an unemployed writer-actress nearing the age bracket where I audition to play the mother of girls five years younger than me. ASK BELIEVE RECEIVE, ya'll (thanks again for supporting this blog.) The boots were an early Christmas gift from Tony, the dress was an early Christmas gift from me (both on sale). Here's lots of pics of me flouncing around in them. Meanwhile, I'm gonna go run off the cinnamon roll I inhaled while writing this...View Article
Okay, it's not ACTUALLY a Snuggie. It's just the coziest outfit of all time. Just in time for Thanksgiving, here is an outfit to sub in for your traditional eating pants/athleisure wear that you can comfortably go back to the buffet for thirds (or fourths) in without busting a button. I'm still in Texas shooting a movie (!!!!), but here are some pics I forced Tony to take while we were in Vancouver! Since Maggie ate these shoes, I'm going to wear this cocoon of softness with booties from here on out. HAPPY ALMOST-WEEKEND!View Article
I wore this top out to dinner last night, and realized that I never shared the fashion photo shoot I forced Tony to perform back when we were in Vancouver. But this is a great transitional piece for fall, especially since Los Angeles' weather has been pretty bipolar over the past few days (plus, isn't it summer in Australia now? Just trying to be considerate of my worldwide readers. If I have any. Holla at me, Australians!) I love the off-shoulder look, but in black and with sleeves long enough to cover the chicken-cutlet portion of my arms, I'm dragging this summery look into November and I think it works. (Don't tell me if you think otherwise, I only want compliments because I was raised in a society where EVERYONE IS A WINNER.)View Article
