gratitude list

This photo was taken the moment before, mouth full of breakfast taco, I asked Tony to run out and get us doughnuts while I showered. (He did. He also got up early, so I had an iced latte in front of my face when I woke up, even though he’s had mostly night shoots this week. And he fetched me this strawberry jalapeno juice that is presently lighting up my life.) It’s my last night here in Texas visiting him before I head back to L.A. to begin a holiday baking, DIY-gift-making bender. It’s been a really happy few days; while I guess it is true that absence makes the heart grow fonder, there is nothing better than being in the same city, falling asleep next to my husband. And also having him bring me a constant flow of food. HAPPY WEEKEND! Here’s what I’m grateful for this week…

HOTEL ROBES. (See above.)

The outdoor shower in our room at the Hotel Saint Cecilia.

{“Becoming Santa” promo!!}

The fact that MY HUSBAND is starring in a LIFETIME CHRISTMAS MOVIE, Becoming Santa, airing tomorrow, December 12th. This makes so many childhood (and adulthood) dreams come true.

{picture Katierose sent us of 2/3 of our dog-children, clearly missing us tons}

Getting to have a weeknight sleepover with my bestie Katierose. And also Katierose taking care of the babies while I’m gone.

Morning runs along the water with Tony, where we mostly just run from dog to dog, asking the owners if we can snuggle them (the dogs, not the owners).

Sipping sake at Uchiko, the best restaurant in Austin.

Just being in Austin, really. We love this city so much.

This interview with Tony.

National Geographic and Martin Schoeller’s profiles of homeless people living in Los Angeles. The stories are heartbreaking and the pictures are beautiful; they’re a reminder that there is a story behind the people we often hurry past on the street, and there are so many people who need help in L.A.

This picture of my dad holding my Grandma’s hand. They’re on vacation with my mom in Panama, where my Grandma grew up, and Colombia.

    Tony is in a Hallmark movie!!?

    That is seriously monumental. I imagine that all the Hallmark movie alums are invited to the world’s coziest Christmas party every year. If this is true and you aren’t sworn to secrecy about it (I assume it is a pretty exclusive event) you need to post about it.

    Please & thanks!

      Haha I WISH!!!!! I will suggest that to Tony and see if he can get the higher-ups over at Lifetime to arrange one! (But I’m not sure anything would ever top getting to hang with the real reindeer on set.) Thanks so much for reading and dropping me a line!!!! X A
