This photo was taken the moment before, mouth full of breakfast taco, I asked Tony to run out and get us doughnuts while I showered. (He did. He also got up early, so I had an iced latte in front of my face when I woke up, even though he's had mostly night shoots this week. And he fetched me this strawberry jalapeno juice that is presently lighting up my life.) It's my last night here in Texas visiting him before I head back to L.A. to begin a holiday baking, DIY-gift-making bender. It's been a really happy few days; while I guess it is true that absence makes the heart grow fonder, there is nothing better than being in the same city, falling asleep next to my husband. And also having him bring me a constant flow of food. HAPPY WEEKEND! Here's what I'm grateful for this week...View Article
Tony was in full Instagram Husband mode from the moment I touched down in Austin a few days ago. The man is a saint, and not of the Kardashian-West variety. He even pretends he likes it, and he's a good enough actor that I choose to believe him. We took these pictures around our room at the Hotel Saint Cecilia, one of my favorite places both to stay, and to pretend I am a model and not an unemployed writer-actress nearing the age bracket where I audition to play the mother of girls five years younger than me. ASK BELIEVE RECEIVE, ya'll (thanks again for supporting this blog.) The boots were an early Christmas gift from Tony, the dress was an early Christmas gift from me (both on sale). Here's lots of pics of me flouncing around in them. Meanwhile, I'm gonna go run off the cinnamon roll I inhaled while writing this...View Article
Tony and I are together again!!!!! Since we are both co-dependent newlyweds with separation anxiety playing the long game, we're trying really hard to abide by the "Hollywood marriage rule" of never spending more than two weeks apart. But, it's the holidays and this time of year is nuts. I was resigning myself to our breaking the rule a mere 4 months into our marriage when Tony emailed me with surprise plane tickets and a night at one of our favorite hotels in the world, the Hotel Saint Cecilia in Austin, on his day off. We'd both only gotten 2 hours of sleep the night before, so we took a 4-hour nap, wandered around the neighborhood and had dinner at Uchiko, where we ended up ordering seconds on everything it was so good. Despite having just recently chowed down on several breakfast tacos, Tony and I are going for a run along the river (wish us luck). Then, we're driving back to Victoria, where Tony will be shooting all night. If you're having as much trouble focusing on work as I am this morning, here is some clickbait for you to dive into...View Article
My bestie came over for a holiday cocktail sleepover! ON A MONDAY BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE JOBS! It ended with both of us singing two different songs at the same time thinking we were singing the same song, and then me sitting down to write this, so please forgive any and all grammatical errors. Here are four delish recipes to take the edge off the holiday season. HAPPY COCKTAILIDAYS!View Article
'Tis the season for stress, getting sick, freaking out about El Nino, eating and drinking too much and frantically online shopping for presents because I'm a germaphobe who gets anxious in crowded public places. If you're like me, I can't help you with any of the above EXCEPT for online shopping! Here are a few gift ideas for the ladies in your life...View Article

For the latest edition of Coffee With Friends, I'm SUPER excited to introduce this guest blog by one of my best friends, Barbara King. She's an actress, mommy extraordinaire, member of my bridal party and mother of Matisse, our flower girl/child I pretend is mine when Barbara's not around. Anytime Barbara and I get together, the conversation inevitably turns to the topic of raising kids in L.A. I'm terrified of it, and she is rocking it. She's got a pretty hilarious take on motherhood here in Hollywood, so I asked her to write a series about it for Heels in the Hills. Here is her first installment, "10 Questions L.A. Kids Have Asked Me"!View Article
