Hola Dudes and Dudettes, Annie and I just got back from my first tuxedo fitting and I need to cut some weight for the wedding ASAP, like Foxcatcher style! I'm taking over HITH for the day because Annie had to get laser beams shot into her face or eyes or something, but I'm totally in love with her face and everything about her, so that's tight. The wedding is only 58 days away...View Article
I know that at its core, this wedding is really about Tony and me and the life we're creating together, so this may seem silly to say, but (aside from the day Tony proposed), the wedding has never felt more real than this past Saturday, at my bridal shower. I've been planning the wedding for so long that Pinterest is haunting my dreams. I've spent more time agonizing over the logistics of parking and who we've forgotten off the guest list than I have thinking about what I'll say to Tony in my vows (I know. I'm ashamed.) But this Saturday was all about the women I love who love me, coming together to support and celebrate me...View Article
Yesterday, Tony wrapped season one of 'School of Rock.' I can’t believe it. The past few months flew by, it feels like they just started a few weeks ago. We went out for an impromptu date last night to celebrate with sushi and movie ('San Andreas,' funniest movie of the year, we loved every minute) - and in the car ride, we were both saying that it still doesn’t feel real. I remember so vividly Tony going for a run at Runyon Canyon, and his team calling and telling me to go find him it was so important they speak to him immediately, and him running home just as I was about to drive out in the middle of rush hour to search for him dodging cars on Laurel Canyon Boulevard and tell him to get in. He called them back, and put it on speaker phone so I could be a part of the moment, too. They told him he booked the role, and I started sobbing...View Article
I am so excited to go see MA'AM, an all female sketch show, here in L.A. tonight. And it's not just because I co-created this show, or because it's starring several of my best friends... It's also because they're some of the most talented people in this town and I know I'm going to die laughing the entire time. And, even more importantly, I'm excited because it is starring, written and directed by women. And I have A LOT to say about the state of women in Hollywood right now, especially in comedy...View Article
My dad's genius godson Tommy graduated from law school and business school and passed the bar this weekend. He's my dad's best friend Bill's son, and like a brother to me. I'm almost exactly a year older, so I can technically say I've known him since he was born, even though neither of us remember meeting each other. He's probably the most accomplished person I know... All I accomplished this weekend was eating my own weight in tacos, fried chicken and cocktails. But it was worth it, for a weekend long celebration with Tommy's family in town. I love the family I was born into, but I'm doubly lucky to have such a loving extended family of people who (while not blood relatives) are like second parents and brothers to me. (I just wish I actually was related to Tommy's mom Barb, because she can do the splits and I can't even touch my toes.) Here are a few "snaps," as Barb likes to say, from our weekend...View Article
In the latest installment of Coffee With Friends, I'm chatting with Ariane Price, one of the funniest ladies I know whose one-woman show, "There Will Be Blood," is TONIGHT at The Groundlings Theatre! As stated on the poster, she bills it: "From losing my mom to becoming a mom and all the heinous, awkward, coming of age hilarity in between." I caught the premiere, and it was incredible - it made me cry from laughing and cry from feeling all the feelings. Ariane was sweet enough to chat with me in anticipation of tonight's show, and share her experiences and advice on getting into comedy in Hollywood...View Article
