Tony and I got in late last night from a close family friend's gorgeous wedding weekend in Colorado and we have a big meeting tomorrow that is going to force me to focus on something other than the wedding for the next 24 hours (and also shower). So, I'm going to make this brief(ish). But, I will climb onto my bridal blogger soapbox for a minute first and say this: We have less than 3 weeks until our wedding day, and the days are going by at warp speed (this is my excuse for not showering most days). There is a lot left to do, and I am a bad combination of super Type-A perfectionist and extremely disorganized. A lot of people have been asking me lately, "Are you okay?" and saying "Remember, it's supposed to be fun!" Here's the thing: It IS fun. So fun! I've loved weddings my entire life, and could not be more thrilled for my own. Especially after the last few we've attended, where I've known either the bride or groom for my entire life, which made those weddings all the more emotional and reminded me to take a minute and breathe when it comes to my own. And the old adage that guests only have as much fun as the bride and groom are having is absolutely true; I've just spent the last few weekends partying harder than I did in college with some of the happiest brides I've ever seen. So, the last thing I want is for my guests to be worried about me, or for them to watch stress wrinkles grow on my face. I want nothing more than the last year and a half of planning to result in a party where people are happy and carefree, with a drink in one hand and a jar of cake in the other, rocking out on the dance floor. Especially Tony and me...View Article

Tony and I had a relaxing Santa Barbara getaway this long weekend, where we got to recharge and watch my dear friend Berkeley (little sister of my lifelong bestie and co-MOH Jax) marry her love Jack. It was such a happy, emotional weekend; Berkeley and Jax are like family to me. I've known Berkeley since she was born. We share an obsession with rescuing and collecting homeless animals. She and Jax grew up down the street from us, and Berkeley once snuck over and tried to rollerblade away with our family's cat. My dad officiated Jax's wedding, and we were co-MOH's and co-conspirators for that epic Napa wedding. So, it was the most beautiful thing to watch her marry the sweetest, funniest man whose family adores her as much as he does (and we do).View Article
We are getting married exactly ONE MONTH FROM TODAY. Today I had my wedding beauty trial AND my second dress fitting AND went to Tony's tuxedo fitting... My life has officially been taken over by the wedding. When I'm not scouring the internet for gold house numbers for a little DIY project I (Tony) will be attacking or pondering Xanax, here are a few articles I've been distracting myself with as of late. HAPPY HUMP DAY!View Article
LOVE WINS!!!!!!!!! You guys, I am in tears. It is outrageous and disturbing that this took so long and was ever a question to begin with and not a natural right, but my heart is bursting with happiness that the Supreme Court sided with reason, rationality and love: Marriage is now legal for everyone, everywhere in the United States. States cannot ban same-sex marriage. I can't wait to tell my kids about this momentous day one day, and for them to roll their eyes and be like, "You're so old, Mom. Obviously anyone who wants to get married should be able to! How were you even alive when that wasn't allowed? Wasn't that, like, in the Dark Ages?"View Article
I had the honor and pure joy of being a guest at my friends' Tina and Mickey's vow renewal in Las Vegas this past weekend. To celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary, they decided to do a wedding pt. II with Elvis officiating this time around. They sent out a Paperless Post that stated "NO RSVP, JUST COME PARTY." Hawaiian attire was encouraged. I was in. Having subjected myself and my loved ones to the most unnecessarily intense wedding planning process over the past year and a half, Tina was exactly the type of bride (ie not a bridezilla) I needed to be around...View Article
I know that at its core, this wedding is really about Tony and me and the life we're creating together, so this may seem silly to say, but (aside from the day Tony proposed), the wedding has never felt more real than this past Saturday, at my bridal shower. I've been planning the wedding for so long that Pinterest is haunting my dreams. I've spent more time agonizing over the logistics of parking and who we've forgotten off the guest list than I have thinking about what I'll say to Tony in my vows (I know. I'm ashamed.) But this Saturday was all about the women I love who love me, coming together to support and celebrate me...View Article
Anytime you receive an email that starts off with "Hi beauties!!!!" and has a wedding-related subject line, you know you're in for something awful. And a few of the friends I love most in this world, when I invited/harassed them to participate in a "Wedding Sweatshop Wino Night" this past Sunday. Only it wasn't just a night, it was a day. I offered them wine, champagne, snacks, pizza and cupcakes in exchange for a day of free labor assembling hundreds of DIY projects while listening to me vent about wedding drama. And they agreed...View Article
