Yesterday, Tony wrapped season one of 'School of Rock.' I can’t believe it. The past few months flew by, it feels like they just started a few weeks ago. We went out for an impromptu date last night to celebrate with sushi and movie ('San Andreas,' funniest movie of the year, we loved every minute) - and in the car ride, we were both saying that it still doesn’t feel real. I remember so vividly Tony going for a run at Runyon Canyon, and his team calling and telling me to go find him it was so important they speak to him immediately, and him running home just as I was about to drive out in the middle of rush hour to search for him dodging cars on Laurel Canyon Boulevard and tell him to get in. He called them back, and put it on speaker phone so I could be a part of the moment, too. They told him he booked the role, and I started sobbing...View Article

I just got home from Lake Tahoe, and am already ready to go back. Tony had to work, so I reverted back to childhood and flew solo with my parents and canine siblings, Rigel and Rosie, for a long weekend in the mountains. I packed my white pants, ready to kick off summer and spend the weekend reading wedding magazines with a bottle of champagne by the lake, but Mother Nature had other plans. It hailed and poured rain for the majority of the trip, so instead I sat inside the house in sweatpants and passed the time snacking (another one of my favorite activities). We're desperately in need of some rain in California (and, perhaps, a rain plan for our wedding), and it was still a beautiful, relaxing weekend. (Although I'm not sure my parents would categorize our 3-hour marathon planning sesh with the florist and wedding planner "relaxing." I, however, loved every minute.)
Tony and I have been engaged for so long, it's hard to believe the wedding is actually almost here (a little over two months away, to be exact). We have most of the big decisions out of the way, so now it's just the fun details to figure out, like whether or not to put cherries on the mini milkshakes, or how long to run on the treadmill in order to fit into my dress. It made me overwhelmingly happy, walking around the house I love so much, deciding where to say our vows, where to put the cake, where to put the Porta Potties. Happy Memorial Day! It's an overcast day up here in Lake Tahoe (we've been getting some much needed rain), and I'm taking a break from my frenzy of wedding planning to remember why we don't have to go to work today, and get to eat burgers, drink too many margaritas and get 20% off at our favorite stores instead. Even though today is about honoring those who gave their lives for our country, I'm also taking a moment to honor those currently serving, like Tony's groomsman Rob. He sent us this picture of his office in Afghanistan; that's our Save the Date under the flag. And my bridesmaid Julia's husband Rob, who has served overseas, as well. Sadly, we're not throwing a BBQ this Memorial Day weekend because I'm deep in the trenches of wedding planning and am unable to focus on non-wedding related tasks as simple as taking a shower, much less throwing a party at our house. But I love entertaining and if I were throwing a party, here are a few of the recipes I'd be attacking. My friend Kim DeJesus looks like this. And she eats this. Ergo, if I eat this, I will look like that. THAT'S HOW IT WORKS, RIGHT, KIM??? (She's also vegan and works out a ton, but I'm gonna pretend that if I have this smoothie for breakfast, I can have tacos for lunch and pasta for dinner and call "walking to the fridge" exercise.) I got the email that my wedding dress is ready (!!!!!!) this morning, and so I turned to Kim in a panic for help actually fitting into it. This will be the first in a series from her teaching me how to eat healthy! I am so excited to go see MA'AM, an all female sketch show, here in L.A. tonight. And it's not just because I co-created this show, or because it's starring several of my best friends... It's also because they're some of the most talented people in this town and I know I'm going to die laughing the entire time. And, even more importantly, I'm excited because it is starring, written and directed by women.
