Do you ever pop a Xanax, make cookie dough and eat it raw for dinner, then meditate with a sheet mask on your face while chugging wine through a straw? Or was that just me last night? THIS WEEK IS GOING SO GOOD YOU GUYS. I am adulting so good. SO GOOD. Now excuse me while I scream into a pillow, then take my first shower of the week (JK, I don't have time, I have dinner plans and my friends will just have to deal with me + 1 full can of dry shampoo in the place of hair). Happy hump day! Here is some stuff to read on the internet instead of living your life, if you want to be like me!View Article
The conversation around this blog was mostly whether there was too much camel toe going on to share it, but Tony won out and so the pics are going up! (I think he really pushed for it because I made him take them during a rainstorm when we were in Austin a few weeks ago, and he didn't want to have gotten soaked for nothing.) This jumpsuit is crazy comfortable, on sale and makes me feel like I'm in "Top Gun." HAPPY MONDAY! (For real, though, apologies for camel toe.)View Article
Boozing and internet shopping is one of my favorite pastimes. It's a hobby. A form of relaxation. And this is one of the best late-night purchases I have made! I feel like I remember reading about it in a respected beauty magazine, but I don't know if that's true, or the wine talking. Anyway, it feels like a human bug zapper and looks like a delicate, pricey dildo but in actuality it is a magical acne and signs-of-aging eraser!View Article
My best friend and co-Maid of Honor Jax shared this hot hot pic on Facebook last night and it gave me all the feels!!!!! I think this was before a school dance circa 2001? As you can see, I was already channeling my inner Stepford Wife, 15-going-on-37, while Jax was really feeling the Britney vibe. (She could probably still rock that crop top, though.) We've known each other since we were babies and grew up down the street from each other, and now she has a baby of her own and lives walking distance from both our parents. This photo simultaneously made my week - and also made me desperately homesick, and envisioning an alternate reality in which I still lived close, could take her spin classes every day and hear her in person (instead of via text) telling me to take a freaking chill pill and stop worrying so much. Aside from that daydream (Jax, I MISS YOU), here are the other things getting me through this hump day...View Article
In general, social media is the worst. Everyone creates a carefully crafted image, showing only a cultivated, heavily filtered sliver of their life (I am majorly guilty of this. Anytime I post a food or dog pic, just know it's usually because I couldn't muster the energy to get dressed that day.) Trolling Facebook and Instagram tends to bum me out as I scroll through pictures of things I wasn't invited to, friends hanging out without me, and people killing it in their careers while I'm struggling in mine. So, I've decided to limit my social media to things that are funny, inspiring and generally feel-good. Here are the accounts I like to follow because they make me happy...View Article
Tony and I were in Santa Barbara for a wedding this weekend, and I brought this silk wrap dress along for the post-wedding brunch. We were taking embarrassing blogger photos by the beach when I heard a voice shout, "HEELS IN THE HILLS!" I turned around, thrilled to meet my adoring public, and spotted Lillian Grant, the prettiest girl from my high school in northern California. (LILLIAN. Even her name is perfect.) She was in Santa Barbara for a different wedding with her fancy European boyfriend who lightly kissed me on BOTH cheeks like a true European! Guys. Lillian isn't just "high school pretty," she's model gorgeous. Literally. I'm pretty sure she's an actual model. As I breathlessly filled Tony in later, she lives in Italy and could probably be an Instagram celebrity or lifestyle blogger that people actually follow because they just want to be her, but she's too cool. She's an artist. A cool artist. Have I made it clear how cool she is? I wanted to be her 15 years ago, and I still want to be her now. (Alas, I wasn't her, I was the girl who spray tanned only her legs and once waxed the skin off her face when attempting an eyebrow wax.) Anyway, long story short, I practically crapped myself that she remembered me and reads my blog. So now it's not just my mom and her book club and a few of you nice strangers who sometimes comment reading, it's also Lillian Grant. HI LILLIAN. And she complimented me on this dress, and she would know because she's a model (I think) and is doing all sorts of cool art with Italian textiles. So this post is dedicated to Lillian, and this gorg dress that I got at my favorite boutique in all the land, Sunroom in Austin...View Article
