I'm having the hardest time selecting the outfits for our ring bearer and flower girls for our upcoming wedding. So far, everything I have come across is too expensive, too ridiculous, or just gives me the creeps - it's shocking how many appear to be wedding gowns for child brides or made for tiny street performers. Here are a few I will NOT be choosing...View Article
Instead of writing an uber long, uber hilarious/clever/brilliant post today packed with amateur photography and suspect beauty tips, I'm soaking up my last few hours in northern California, enjoying this view from my parents' backyard, battling my parents over wedding details, eating their food and drinking their wine. I feel like I'm in high school again. Instead, I'm using today's blog as an opportunity to brazenly request that you subscribe to Heels in the Hills. My awesome web designer Richard added a nifty "Subscribe" box for you to fill in your email address on the right sidebar, or you can click the "Follow" button on the bottom right. If you do, it will give me a high few antidepressants can achieve and I would be so sincerely grateful! (I promise to actually put some effort in tomorrow. Pinky swear. Maybe.)View Article
I'm in TWO different shows in the next TWO weeks at the Groundlings Theatre: Thursday April 30th and Thursday May 7th, both at 10pm. If you're in Los Angeles, come! If you're not in Los Angeles, COME to Los Angeles and then come! Get your tickets before they sell out, and before we're all famous and no longer doing shows because we're too busy being famous, doing famous things and dodging the paparazzi and starting new fad diets and religions and other things famous people do...View Article
It would seem that my goal is to make all of my loved ones hate me by August 1... Can't write/shower/be a productive member of society today, I'm too busy forcing my parents and fiancé into wedding DIY indentured servitude. Welcome bag assembly, here we come! TONY, DO YOU STILL WANT TO MARRY ME????View Article
Tony's on hiatus for a few days, so we decided to escape L.A. for northern California for a long weekend. One of our favorite people on the planet, Kara Allen Soldati, is the Executive Director at CoachArt (if you haven't yet, read her incredible guest blog) and the annual CoachArt gala was held in San Francisco last night, so we bought tickets a few weeks ago... And unfortunately, the night before we left, Tony got food poisoning. (He's narrowed the source down to a 2-day old protein shake, some juices he had instead of lunch on Wednesday, or a crepe with an entire pint of ice cream stuffed inside of it.) He's a trooper and still decided to go, so I drove the 6 hours to my parents house to drop our dogs off, then the additional two to San Francisco. We made it to the gala just in time for the New Orleans style marching band, ate a delicious dinner and beamed with pride at our amazing friend killing it at her job. Then today, we ate our faces off all over San Francisco. My parents are telling me it's time to go eat more, so here are some pics of our getaway so far... Happy weekend!View Article
I'm a total creeper and love to stalk people's wedding websites. (Probably a creeper for other reasons too, but we'll keep it specific to this blog.) I get such a rush trolling strangers' photos and love stories, seeing where they're getting married and why, how he/she proposed, judging they've registered for. (You are a dirty liar if you tell me you don't judge wedding registries... OR I'm just a jerk.) So, for a little karma, I'm sharing our wedding website publicly! I bought a subscription for it to be hosted through the luxury wedding website company Riley & Grey, and the kind folks over there offered a 50% discount to the first 50 readers who use the code HEELS at checkout for their own wedding websites! Read on to creep Tony and my site...View Article
In the latest installment of the Coffee With Friends series, I am SO EXCITED to introduce you to The Curated Tee and the mamas behind this awesome business: Vanessa Ragland and Mandy Sheffer. I met Vanessa through The Groundlings (she's a current member of the Sunday Company) and in addition to being Mom of the Year (I gave her the award... Congratulations, Vanessa!) and a genius comedian, she and her best friend Mandy recently launched The Curated Tee, a subscription-based company that offers a monthly gender-neutral t-shirt featuring a guest artist's design, along with a digital download of an activity based around that month's artwork. In addition to supporting up-and-coming artists, they also expose kids (ages 1-4) to different forms of art that encourage them to think and play! Subscriptions are a perfect baby shower or children's birthday party gift. I'm not the only fan... Molly Sims recently Instagrammed her love for them!View Article
My sweet friend Kelsey Farese graciously invited me to be a guest on her latest YouTube series, Creator's Corner, where she interviews fun people while doing fun activities. I got to be said "fun people," and our fun activity was trying out bizarre DIY skincare treatments to see if they actually work... We shot it Sunday and someone asked me today if I'm a USC student, so OBVIOUSLY they did work!!!! (Sidenote: I lied and said yes, I'm a freshman.) Check it out if you like weird, affordable (and edible) beauty treatments!View Article
