Today, I'm launching a new series: GRATITUDE LIST. It was Tony's idea, and I loved it. He takes stock of things he is grateful for as soon as he wakes up and before he goes to bed, and I see the happiness, peace and fulfillment it brings him. I think this practice contributes to his open heart and ability to "live in the moment," something that I strive for. There have been countless studies demonstrating that being grateful makes you happier, and I want to make a conscious effort to really appreciate the things in my life instead of always chasing down the next thing. So, here is what I am grateful for right now...View Article

My mom's first question when Tony and I got back from our honeymoon wasn't "Did you have fun?" It was "ARE YOU PREGNANT????" I'm NOT. The waiter who served me sushi and two tequila cocktails last night can attest to that fact, and so can my doctor. However, something must have been in the air, because Tony told my agent that I AM, in fact, pregnant. Worse, he emailed my agent from my email account, as me, so it seemed like I was telling her I'm pregnant. It was all an accident, just a big misunderstanding. Here's how it went down...View Article
On Saturday, my friend Kate hosted a private screening of "Father of the Bride" in her garage-turned-movie-theater. I made miniature wedding cakes. Tony made grilled tacos. A few of my bestie "girls and gays" came, we all drank too much and had other people drive us home. IT WAS A DREAM COME TRUE.View Article
There are so many things I want to write about in these last few weeks leading up to our wedding - my bachelorette party, Tony's bachelor party, sharing our Save the Dates, how the guest list has been the most difficult part of planning, our honeymoon, how I've been feverishly sweating it out the elliptical from midnight to 1am - but, if you didn't get it from that last one, the days are disappearing like the sands through that hourglass on Days of Our Lives. And today, I prioritized my final dress fitting (!!!!!!!!!) and buying fake hair (which Tony and I affectionately refer to as our "wedding pet." It's actually real hair from a stranger in India, and I will be wearing it on my head while we promise to love each other forever). I'm going to try to keep posting every weekday, but things might be a bit sporadic leading up to August 1. Thanks for bearing with me, and for reading and supporting the blog, it means so much to me! In the meantime, here is some clickbait to get you through the weekend. I hope you have the happiest Friday! I sure did... Not only did the dress fit, but the kind people at Vera Wang told me to eat a burger. THOSE LATE NIGHTS ON THE ELLIPTICAL WERE ALL WORTH IT. And now, I'm going to do just that. Have the best weekend!View Article
Tony and I are less than two months out from our wedding, and all of the final stages of planning are kicking into high gear. We just found out that Tony's schedule will allow us to go on a honeymoon, so we're having the most fun scrambling to figure out where to go (please comment below with any ideas!!) I'm still riding the happiness high from last weekend's perfect bridal shower (as I write this, I'm listening to the playlist my sweet friend Corey's boyfriend made especially for the party), and am looking forward to a weekend packed with All Things Wedding - we're trying to track down a tuxedo for Tony, and are shopping for our wedding rings tomorrow! Here are all the things that put a smile on my face this week... I hope you have a fabulous weekend packed with over-priced diamonds, beautiful soul music, unaffordable tuxedos and leftover cake, too! HAPPY FRIDAY!View Article
I just got home from Lake Tahoe, and am already ready to go back. Tony had to work, so I reverted back to childhood and flew solo with my parents and canine siblings, Rigel and Rosie, for a long weekend in the mountains. I packed my white pants, ready to kick off summer and spend the weekend reading wedding magazines with a bottle of champagne by the lake, but Mother Nature had other plans. It hailed and poured rain for the majority of the trip, so instead I sat inside the house in sweatpants and passed the time snacking (another one of my favorite activities). We're desperately in need of some rain in California (and, perhaps, a rain plan for our wedding), and it was still a beautiful, relaxing weekend. (Although I'm not sure my parents would categorize our 3-hour marathon planning sesh with the florist and wedding planner "relaxing." I, however, loved every minute.) Tony and I have been engaged for so long, it's hard to believe the wedding is actually almost here (a little over two months away, to be exact). We have most of the big decisions out of the way, so now it's just the fun details to figure out, like whether or not to put cherries on the mini milkshakes, or how long to run on the treadmill in order to fit into my dress. It made me overwhelmingly happy, walking around the house I love so much, deciding where to say our vows, where to put the cake, where to put the Porta Potties. I'm feeling rejuvenated and so very lucky that we'll be getting married there. Here are 25 examples of why this place is my favorite in the world...View Article
I am thrilled to introduce a new series to Heels in the Hills, Coffee With Friends. I’m very fortunate to have so many hilarious, inspiring people in my life who have beautiful hearts and unique talents and perspectives to offer the world. They’ve shaped who I am and make me strive to be better every day. I’m so excited to share their voices with you in this new series! First, I would like you to meet my friend Natalie Lipka and her partner-in-crime Wayne Frazier, who host the Hollywood Close-Up podcast and are talented actor-writer-comedians. They generously invited me to be a guest on their show (my episode aired this morning!) and were kind enough to answer a few questions about the world of podcasting.View Article
