My Parents’ Trip to Japan
Posted September 22, 2016 | Filed in LIFE & LOVE, SERIES, travel |

I left the house for the first time last night since Sunday and wrote "September 9, 2016" on a check today. But my parents are living it up in Japan - and since I have nothing in my own life to share with you today, I thought I would share their amazing pictures instead. Despite the fact that my dad doesn't like fish or rice, they look like they're having the best time. I'm told (by everyone) I have enough dogs, but I would really love it if they could bring me a monkey home...View Article

This guy is out of town being a movie star, so here is the crap I'm spending my time trolling while he is gone (aside from caring for the 5 dogs currently in my home. I am like a living, breathing episode of "Hoarders" RN.)View Article

September Book Club: HOW TO PARTY WITH AN INFANT

For September's book club pick (coming in at the very end of the month - sorry guys, I just can't get my shit together), I'm selecting my latest, greatest fave novel: Kaui Hart Hemmings' "How To Party With An Infant." It's a hilarious and sweet story about a single mom navigating the intense San Francisco "mom scene," who - in a search for her own identity - enters the San Francisco Mommy Club's cookbook writing contest. I don't have kids, but I found it really relatable - I think anyone can relate to searching for a pack of friends to fit in with, adapting to life's unexpected turns and (especially for me, at this point in my life), trying to achieve a dream that seems unattainable or silly, and make something of your life that you can be proud of...View Article

Emmys Makeup

My friend Veronica Sinclair is THE QUEEN of Hollywood makeup. If I had all the money, I would put her on retainer and pay her to do my makeup and hair every day. She's sweet, fun and makes me feel like a million bucks. (I'm not the only one - check out her Instagram for the celebs she styles.) She's dolled me up for every special occasion in my life for the past few years, including our wedding, and I was so happy with my look for the Creative Arts Emmys last weekend, I asked her to share the makeup products she used...View Article

gratitude list

My parents were in town for a brief visit this week before continuing their spree of international jetsetting, and they left for Japan this morning. Tony booked a movie shooting on the other side of the country for almost a month, and leaves this weekend. SO, it will be me and five dogs (our 3 + my parents' 2), our alarm system, a loaner sofa, and a TV I don't know how to work. If it sounds like I am complaining, I am NOT... That actually sounds like an ideal set-up (aside from already being homesick for my husband and parents, and also not understanding how to use basic technology). I was a hermit homebody already, but love our new home so much that now it takes a lot to get me to leave. Anytime someone wants to hang out, I say "Sure! But you have to come over!" I'm excited to keep plugging away at our remodel, making this house truly a home, reading as much of the pile of books on my bedside table as I can, and making people feel shame for my animal hoarding mental illness as I attempt to walk all five untrained dogs solo. If you see me clutching five leashes in one hand and 10 lbs of poop in the other, just cross the street shamefully and refuse to make eye contact. I will understand. HAPPY FRIDAY! Have the best weekend! Here's what I'm grateful for right now... Most especially that SCHOOL OF ROCK Season 2 premieres TOMORROW!!!!View Article
